We propose a special care ecosystem where two different groups from the welfare blind spots meet to heal each other, transcending generations and circumstances.
Another Discovery: Lonely Seniors
In parts of New York, there are elderly Korean seniors living alone on the edge of poverty and isolation, unable to receive any federal benefits due to their immigration status.
Living day-to-day under tragic circumstances, they often lack anyone to even arrange a funeral after their passing. The Foundation has connected these two dots.
- Seniors Living Alone: Wash away helplessness through warm interactions with children, spending their remaining years with peace of mind.
- Single-Mother/Single-Father Families: Become active helpers and volunteers for other marginalized groups, experiencing firsthand what it means to contribute to the community.
- Children’s Generation: Become grandchildren to the elderly, learning respect, manners, and the value of sharing.
